Knit Baby Set

the set has a cap, sweater and booties. I chose beige and yellow. It is ideal for a new born baby

During the 2020 Corona pandemic lockdown I have had time to pursue old forgotten hobbies like knitting. It's such a soothing, relaxing and satisfying pass time.

I still remember that I was introduced to knitting by my favourite teacher Mrs Sanober Khan when I was in class 5. I managed to make a pink baby sweater with a lot of help from my mum and aunt.

Life got so busy and I knitted a few things for my children and their cousins when they were kids.

Recently I got into the mood and with the help of Google and my own alterations I managed to make this baby set.

There are a pair of booties, a cap and a raglan sweater.

I have hand written the patterns and you can follow them row by row.

Try it. You will be so  amazed at the result if you are a beginner fan of knitting.

Cute booties

During the 2020 Corona pandemic lockdown I have had time to pursue old forgotten hobbies like knitting. It's such a soothing, relaxing and satisfying pass time.

  • Turn booty wrong side out.

Stitch carefully matching each row to the corresponding one. Use an appropriate needle for wool stitching.

  • Finish stitching neatly.

Cut off extra wool tails. Turn over the booty to the right side out.
Now knit the second booty to match.

  • The cute pair of booties

Carefully thread the thin ribbon around the ankle area and tie it into a bow. Isn't this lovely?

Making the Cap

  • Starting the cap

Tip: you can make a grid of numbers on a piece of paper and the go on ticking the row that you finish. This makes my life easier and I don't forget which row I have reached.

  • Base of cap

You are now ready to design the crown.

  • Cap is almost done

Stitch the cap wrong side out. Be careful at the top. Cut off extra wool tails.

  • Top of cap

Turn the cap the right side out.

  • Front of cap

You may make a tiny bow with the ribbon and stitch it on the front of the cap. Then it is matching with the booties.

  • side of cap

You may fold the border upwards to make the cap shorter if you like.
